Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be an integral part of the Leadership team. This person will perform as a Project Manager, leading multi-discipline and/or inhouse MEP engineering teams on assigned projects.
This person will be responsible for working in a professional and collaborative design environment with Owners, D/B Managers, Contractors, Prime and Sub-Consultants. Coordinating MEP building systems with architectural design and field experience providing construction administration services. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while demonstrating leadership by implementing new concepts, technology, and designs.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
- Direct and lead the mechnical engineering staff / team.
- Monitor engineering costs, product costs, and schedule of assigned jobs or projects.
- Develop new ideas and concepts for improvement in engineering operations.
- Provide assessments of facility conditions, review HVAC, plumbing and control system designs for smart buildings, review specifications, inspect and troubleshoot HVAC systems and controls, perform commissioning and provide mechanical design engineering.
- Create mechanical design calculations, specifications, and drawings for projects. Conduct field surveys to assess condition of existing equipment.
- Plan the work and coordinate concepts, criteria and goals at the beginning of each project so that changes and corrections are minimized. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly project reports, organize and plan projects and develop cost estimates.
- Perform Quality Control (QC) checks for possible conflicts with other disciplines and to ensure compliance with all applicable criteria, codes, and regulations.
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum 10+ years' mechanical design experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Experience in the design of HVAC and control systems
- Skilled in the creation of detailed designs of a new system or integration design in an existing structure
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, BIM/Revit

Job Description
Advanced Engineering Consultants (AEC) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager with 10 - 15 years of experience in consulting engineering. The ideal candidate will have a PE in the state of Ohio, be skilled at project team management and have experience with client relations. The Senior Electrical Engineer / PM will be an integral part of electrical engineering department. This person must be a team player, working closely with clients, team partners, and fellow staff to produce engineering drawings and documents. This person must have strong communication skills, be detailed oriented, and well organized.
Position Responsibilities
- Project and client management, overseeing of electrical design execution.
- Prepare proposals for various clients as either the lead A/E or sub-consultant.
- Administer project contracts, including invoicing and resource management.
- Coordinate with company team leads for planning use of resources and completing projects within budgeted times.
- Electrical system analysis, including normal and back-up power systems, lighting systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Preparation of construction documents for power distribution systems, lighting systems, and fire alarm system.
- Coordinate with in-house and subconsultant specialists for electrical support of varying low-voltage systems, such as technology, security, controls, etc.
- Coordinate with other trades, such as architects, mechanical and plumbing engineers and others for equipment power and control needs and sizing electrical distribution.

The ideal candidate will have an FPE license, be skilled in all aspects of design and engineering for fire suppression and fire alarm systems and be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
The Fire Protection Engineer will be an integral part of the Columbus office. This person must be a team player, working closely with clients, team partners, and fellow staff to produce engineering drawings and documents. This person must have strong communication skills, be detailed oriented, and well organized.
Duties include, but are not limited to, self-performing the following:
- Perform fire suppression and alarm engineering calculations, including hydraulic calculations and intelligibility calculations.
- Perform life safety code reviews.
- Preparation of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with in-house and subconsultant specialists.
- Coordinate with other trades, such as architects, mechanical electrical and plumbing engineers.
- Perform field verification of existing systems for renovation projects.
- Communication with manufacturer representatives to determine solutions for specific applications.
