September 2016: AEC is proud to announce that Columbus Fire Station #3 achieved LEED Gold Certification with the US Green Building Council. AEC provided M/E/P/T/FP engineering design services for the new fire station; which also temporarily houses Columbus Fire #2 while that station is under construction. The new fire station #3 is 26,000 SQ feet and construction was completed in 2015.

August 2016: AEC recently learned that a Compressed Air Systems Repair project performed for NASA Glenn Research Center was accepted; completing our work on the project. Our team of engineers provided designs for compressor and dryer equipment, auxiliary systems, piping, and associated controls. Our team received high praise for the design work we provided on this project. NASA’s GRC senior project manager had this to say “As of August 1, 2016 NASA has taken acceptance of the SA-24 Service Air Compressor and Dryer system, effectively completing the scope of the FY14 Central Compressed Air System Repairs – Phase 1 project.  I want to thank everyone involved with the project for contributing to the completion and success of the project.  As a project, we were fortunate to bring together such a talented and responsive team that began with the design and followed all the way through systems commissioning.  The project’s engineering and construction teams performed seamlessly – our special thanks to both.  The efforts of everyone are greatly appreciated.”

July 2016 - AEC has been certified by the City of Cleveland as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and a Female Business Enterprise (FBE). In addition, we have been certified by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and a Woman Business Enterprise (WBE).

June 2016 - AEC is proud to announce the opening of our newest branch office in Cleveland, Ohio. The office is located at 5595 Transportation Boulevard, Suite 100, Cleveland, OH 44125. Our new office will help us to better serve our clients in the northeast Ohio area.

January 2016 - Congratulations to AEC Indiana who provided professional services for Building 2037 at the Naval Support Activity in Crane Indiana.  This renovation project achieved LEED Silver Certification thru the USGBC.  The building provides testing laboratories, a clean room testing environment, office space and an interactive conference room.

December 2015 - Congratulations to AEC Ohio, who provided professional services for the Security Main Gate building at the NASA Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio.  This project applied a geothermal well field and high-efficiency heat pumps to achieve LEED Silver Certification through the USGBC.  The new construction building houses the main security checkpoint for the site. 

December 2015 – On December 9th, the Gene Haas Training and Education Center celebrated the opening of their new facility with a Dedication Ceremony in Lebanon, IN.  AEC provided the design services for this 24,000 SF building with flexible laboratories, smart classrooms, lecture hall, conference space, and offices.  Vincennes University will use this facility for CAD, manufacturing, material testing, logistics training, and robotics instructions.  Read More…

December 2015 – AEC provided engineering services for Building 5 at the Naval Support Activity in Crane Indiana.  The building included highly sophisticated conference space with advanced user interface for maximum flexibility and fidelity.  The design obtained the maximum points achievable for Optimizing Energy Performance, paving the way for a LEED Gold Certification.

December 2015 - Congratulations to Philip Bowman, PE, CPD, LEED ® AP, who recently became a licensed Fire Protection Professional Engineer.

November 2015 - AEC was recently ranked #18 on Business First's list of Central Ohio's Minority-Owned Businesses.

October 2015 - AEC once again received Exceptional rating for Engineering Services at Wright Patterson AFB: “Advanced Engineering Consultants (AEC) has been awarded nine tasks orders during the first two years of their five year contract. …. The two task orders recently awarded: an electrical study for major admin/research complex and a construction project to correct fire code deficiencies are ongoing. The early stages of these design tasks indicate that AEC’s outstanding performance experienced during their first contract year is continuing.

October 2015 - Brian Eichenlaub joins the AEC team in leading AEC’s Virginia Beach office for business development. Brian comes to AEC with over 30 years of diverse experience in our industry including industrial, aviation, transportation, military, governmental, corporate and commercial market areas.  Brian was a member of the Ohio Air National Guard for 20 years where he was involved with civil engineering activities. He retired from the Air National Guard with the rank of Major.

September 2015 – The City of Columbus featured AEC as one of the two successful small businesses highlighted at Mayor Coleman’s 13th annual Small Business Conference & Expo. (Click Here for Video)

September 2015 - AEC has been selected as the Prime Consultant for a 2-year Indefinite Delivery Contract with Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.  Work includes providing A/E services for various projects at this Air Force Global Strike Command installation.

August 2015 - AEC has been selected as the Prime Consultant for a 5-year Indefinite Delivery Contract with the Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota.  Work includes providing A/E services for this installation.

June 2015 - AEC has been selected as the Prime Consultant for a new 5-year Indefinite Delivery Contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District.  Work includes providing Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection engineering services for military projects located within the USACE Tulsa District boundaries.

May 2015 - AEC is part of a team that has been selected to provide A/E design services for the new Franklin County Public Safety Center – Correctional Facility.  Construction cost of the new facility is estimated to be $150M.

April 2015 - Michael Rice joins the AEC team as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Mike has over 30 years of experience on a diverse range of projects and applications in the industry.

March 2015 - AEC was recently named a 2015 Top Workplace! Columbus CEO and WBNS-10TV in central Ohio identified private and public organizations that are viewed by their employees as great places to work.

February 2015 - AEC was recognized for winning the 2014 Small Business Award for Excellence in A/E Design Services! This award was accepted by Lisa Huang and Alan Hautman on behalf of the AEC-Emersion Joint Venture at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Kentuckiana Small Business Conference.

January 2015 - The City of Zionsville, Indiana, kicked off the New Year with their first Governmental Town Council meeting of 2015 by appointing Michael Billig to the Architectural Review Committee.
