June 2015 - AEC has been selected as the Prime Consultant for a new 5-year Indefinite Delivery Contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District.  Work includes providing Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection engineering services for military projects located within the USACE Tulsa District boundaries.

May 2015 - AEC is part of a team that has been selected to provide A/E design services for the new Franklin County Public Safety Center – Correctional Facility.  Construction cost of the new facility is estimated to be $150M.

April 2015 - Michael Rice joins the AEC team as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Mike has over 30 years of experience on a diverse range of projects and applications in the industry.

March 2015 - AEC was recently named a 2015 Top Workplace! Columbus CEO and WBNS-10TV in central Ohio identified private and public organizations that are viewed by their employees as great places to work.

February 2015 - AEC was recognized for winning the 2014 Small Business Award for Excellence in A/E Design Services! This award was accepted by Lisa Huang and Alan Hautman on behalf of the AEC-Emersion Joint Venture at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Kentuckiana Small Business Conference.

January 2015 - The City of Zionsville, Indiana, kicked off the New Year with their first Governmental Town Council meeting of 2015 by appointing Michael Billig to the Architectural Review Committee.

November 2014 - AEC was recently ranked #20 on Business First's list of Central Ohio's Minority-Owned Businesses.

November 2014 - AEC has been selected by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to provide MEP engineering services for their facilities throughout the State of Ohio (Contract VAR-STW-Facility General Engineering Services - MEP). This is a 2-year contract has now been awarded to AEC for the third time.

October 2014 - AEC recently received an "Exceptional" performance evaluation from the USACE Kansas City District for our work on an electrical system improvements project at Whiteman Air Force Base, MO.  The project involved repair of the Base electrical distribution switches and control systems.  The Corps' PM commented that: "AEC provided a very high quality product. The estimate was within 2% of the contracted price. A very thorough product."

September 2014 - AEC has been selected yet again as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Central Ohio.

September 2014 - AEC is ranked #27 on Business First for Central Ohio's Top Women Owned Businesses.

July 2014 - AEC is teaming with local firms to provide general condition assessments and capital needs studies for the Ohio Department of Corrections. AEC will be responsible for assessing the MEP systems of more than 4.3 million square feet of correctional facilities throughout the southeast region of Ohio.

June 2014 - Michael Richardson (PE) joins the AEC team as a project manager and business developer. Mike’s addition increases AEC’s technical ability for structural engineering, facility condition assessments, and general building services.

June 2014 - AEC has completed work for the U.S. Navy's Crane Strategic Weapons Systems Engineering Facility, which is LEED Silver Certified.

May 2014 - AEC's recent Open House was a great success with over 120 guests, clients, and friend’s in attendance.  We wanted to thank all our guests, clients, and friends for taking time out their busy schedule to attend our Open House and help us celebrate our 15th Anniversary and LEED Gold certification of our renovated building!

May 2014 - Bryan Crnarich, PE, LEED®AP recently passed a test certifying him as Certified Energy Managers (CEM). This credential is administered by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, proficiency, and ethical fitness in the energy management profession.

May 2014 - Congratulations to Phillip (PJ) Reeb, who recently became a licensed Professional Engineer. PJ is an electrical engineer in our Columbus office.

April 2014 - As part of a yearly contract with ODOT, AEC provided engineering design services for the ODOT - District 1 Building Annex, which recently received LEED Silver certification.

March 2014 - Congratulations: AEC Columbus Office achieves LEED Gold Certification for their 13,000 square foot office renovation.

February 2014 - AEC was named the 18th Largest Engineering Firm in Central Ohio, up 7 spots from 2013, in the February 2014 Survey by Columbus Business First.

December 2013 - Congratulations to Gavin Lim, PE, LC, LEED AP and Rick Pettrey, LC, LEED AP, who both recently passed a test certifying them as Certified Lighting Designers.

October 2013 - AEC was ranked the 16th Largest Minority-Owned Business in Central Ohio by Columbus Business First.

October 2013 - AEC has been ranked #12 in Central Ohio Professional Engineers by Columbus CEO Magazine.

September 2013 - AEC has been named a 2013 MEP Giant - one of the 100 top mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering firms in the United States - by Consulting Specifying Engineer magazine.

September 2013 - Congratulations to Lisa Huang, PhD, PE, RCDD for being named a finalist for the 2013 TiE International Entrepreneurship Awards.

September 2013 - AEC is ranked #27 on Business First's In The Know for Central Ohio's Top Women Owned Businesses.

August 2013 - AEC has once again been selected as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Central Ohio.

July 2013 - AEC's work for the Cinncinati Art Museum is LEED Gold Certified.

June 2013 - AEC has been awarded a maximum $12,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract for mechanical, electrical, architect, engineer services to support Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by June 26, 2018. Three delivery orders will be issued with the initial award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PZIOC, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH, is the contracting activity (FA8601-13-D-0003).

May 2013 - AEC's LEED certified projects were featured in the Columbus Business First's Ohio LEED-Certified Spaces list. The projects are:

COTA Mobility Services Facility: LEED Gold Certified
Building features rain water from roof collected for bus washing and flushing of plumbing fixtures, CFC-free HVAC with monitored ventilation system.

COTA Downtown Administration Office: LEED Silver Certified
Building features high-efficiency fixtures/metered faucets, CFC-free HVAC with monitored ventilation, recycled and regionally sourced materials.

March 2013 - Congratulations to the COTA Fields Avenue Facility MEP design team for their part in obtaining LEED Gold Certification for the renovation of this 270,000 SF maintenance and administrative facility. The USGBC Columbus Chapter will be conducting a tour of the building on March 7, 2013. The tour will provide attendees with the opportunity to walk through the facility as well as learn about the project’s sustainable features directly from members of AEC’s design team.

February 2013 - Final forum of the 2012 Coleman Academy will be held on February 28, 2013. Lisa Huang, PhD, PE, RCDD will be one of the panelists.

February 2013 - AEC Columbus office will move to its new office at 1405 Dublin Road. The interior renovation is underway and is LEED Gold certifiable.
