AEC’s electrical team has extensive experience designing electrical systems for diverse building types and markets. Our staff’s assorted backgrounds in lighting design, electrical engineering, controls, sales, manufacturing, and contracting separate us from other electrical firms. We keep up with the latest trends, concepts, and codes by continually attending IES meetings, visiting factories, and conducting our own research.
We provide our clients with premium electrical design services including:
- Power Distribution
- Emergency Power Systems
- Lighting / Illumination Design
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Mass Notification Systems
- Data / Telecommunications
- Daylight Harvesting
- High Voltage Substations
Examples of Electrical Expertise
Chillicothe CI High Voltage & Electrical Distribution Upgrade
Square Footage: approx. 2 million on 72 acres
Facility Type: Correctional Institution
Services: Installation of new main panels and subpanels which were connected to the recently replaced transformers; installation of energy efficient security lighting in inmate housing areas; and evaluation and installation of exterior lighting (parking lot, perimeter, and water treatment plant).
Miami University North Campus 15K Electrical Feeds
Facility Type: Underground Electrical Network
Services: Extension of University’s 12,470V feeder system and 4,160 O-Loop; routing of multiple electrical and telecom/data duct banks; detailing of multiple 5” duct banks and manholes; 15kV underground and pad switched sized to support existing and future facilities; performed metering and communications.
WPAFB Air-Handling Unit Replacement
Facility Type: Electrical Distribution System for Research Facility
Services: Three subsequent projects examining the electrical distribution systems for research facilities at NASA. Initial facility & equipment assessment performed for a portion of the system that exhibited symptoms of potential failure. Followed by a 15% design level PER of a failed medium-voltage power cable tunnel & associated systems identified as posing high risk to facility operations. Currently performing full review & design of all severely damaged electrical items recommended in the PER. Final design submittal expected in Summer 2017.
