2015 AEC News Highlights

December 2015

Congratulations to AEC Ohio, who provided professional services for the Security Main Gate building at the NASA Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio. This project applied a geothermal well field and high-efficiency heat pumps to achieve LEED Silver Certification through the USGBC. The new construction building houses the main security checkpoint for the site.

December 2015

On December 9th, the Gene Haas Training and Education Center celebrated the opening of their new facility with a Dedication Ceremony in Lebanon, IN. AEC provided the design services for this 24,000 SF building with flexible laboratories, smart classrooms, lecture hall, conference space, and offices. Vincents University will use this facility for CAD, manufacturing, material testing, logistics training, and robotics instructions. Read More

December 2015

AEC provided engineering services for Building 5 at the Naval Support Activity in Crane Indiana. The building included highly sophisticated conference space with advanced user interface for maximum flexibility and fidelity. The design obtained the maximum points achievable for Optimizing Energy Performance, paving the way for a LEED Gold Certification.

AEC once again received Exceptional rating for Engineering Services at Wright Patterson AFB: “Advanced Engineering Consultants (AEC) has been awarded nine tasks orders during the first two years of their five year contract. …. The two task orders recently awarded: an electrical study for major administration/research complex and a construction project to correct fire code deficiencies are ongoing. The early stages of these design tasks indicate that AEC’s outstanding performance experienced during their first contract year is continuing.”

Brian Eichenlaub joins the AEC team in leading AEC’s Virginia Beach office for business development. Brian comes to AEC with over 30 years of diverse experience in our industry including industrial, aviation, transportation, military, governmental, corporate and commercial market areas. Brian was a member of the Ohio Air National Guard for 20 years where he was involved with civil engineering activities. He retired from the Air National Guard with the rank of Major.

Michael Richardson (PE) joins the AEC team as a project manager and business developer. Mike’s addition increases AEC’s technical ability for structural engineering, facility condition assessments, and general building services.

August 2015

AEC has been selected as the Prime Consultant for a 5-year Indefinite Delivery Contract with the Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. Work includes providing A/E services for this installation.

June 2015

AEC has been selected as the Prime Consultant for a new 5-year Indefinite Delivery Contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District. Work includes providing Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection engineering services for military projects located within the USACE Tulsa District boundaries.

May 2015

AEC is part of a team that has been selected to provide A/E design services for the new Franklin County Public Safety Center – Correctional Facility. Construction cost of the new facility is estimated to be $150M.

April 2015

Michael Rice joins the AEC team as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Mike has over 30 years of experience on a diverse range of projects and applications in the industry.

AEC was recognized for winning the 2014 Small Business Award for Excellence in A/E Design Services! This award was accepted by Lisa Huang and Alan Hautman on behalf of the AEC-Emersion Joint Venture at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Kentuckiana Small Business Conference

The City of Zionsville, Indiana, kicked off the New Year with their first Governmental Town Council meeting of 2015 by appointing Michael Billig to the Architectural Review Committee.
