AEC was part of a team selected to prepare construction documents and provide construction administration services for a headquarters expansion for Delta Faucet. The new addition expands their existing headquarters by attaching an 80,000 square foot, three-story complex with a basement testing laboratory.
AEC was responsible for providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, access control, security and telecommunications engineering. AEC also provided construction administration services with onsite meetings, site observations, and review of product submittals and mockups. The project included some renovations of the existing building to make a connection between the new and existing structures.
This office addition provides an open and collaborative working environment for Delta Faucet. The programming and design of the building had a focus on comfort and quality for the employees and guests. The systems were designed to promote well-being and productivity. The addition features office space, collaboration areas, conference rooms, training rooms, areas for testing and research/development of projects, as well as a café and kitchen.
The research and development laboratory in the basement provides large water cisterns to allow the research team to recycle hot and cold water separately. The lighting systems included LED and advanced controls for occupancy detection and modulation of the illumination levels to increase energy efficiency. The heating, cooling, and ventilation system for the building emphasizes sustainability, user comfort, and zoned control all with a low first cost.// To accelerate the finished project, the design and construction was split into a site/structural phase and a building phase. This allowed contractors to mobilize and construction to begin while the finishing touches were put on the building design.
