F/20006 is a historic hangar with a multi-story office tower that was slated for renovation to create a new secure area with open offices, private offices and conference room. The full renovation included approximately 50,000 SQ FT. The existing hangar area was renovated into two floors and the existing tower remained divided into three floors. In order to preserve the historic features of the existing hangar, the team built a building within a building.
AEC was part of this Design/Build team providing analysis of the existing building systems and construction documents for the successful conversion to an office building. AEC was responsible for the design of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems. Systems and equipment were designed for overall efficiency and serviceability.
The building is verified as a High Performance and Sustainable Building by the Green Building Initiative.
